Rust Power Trip raid meta: what changed for compounds and farming

The Power Trip changes that affect raid preparation: static high-wall upkeep, tighter water-well stock, safe-zone resource spawns, and powered monument recyclers.

Current official update Official update: 2026-08-06 Reviewed: 2026-08-09 How RaidBench reviews updates

Did Rust Power Trip change raid costs or raid preparation?

Short answer

The official Power Trip notes do not list a direct recipe or target-count change for rockets, C4, satchels, or explosive ammo. Raid preparation still changes around them: high walls now use a static 20% upkeep cost, water-well vendor stock is tighter, ore nodes and woodpiles no longer spawn in safe zones, and powered monuments can change recycler routing.

AreaWhat it means
Explosive mathNo direct explosive recipe or target-count change was found in the official Power Trip notes; RaidBench counts were separately rechecked against the monitored sources.
Compound upkeepHigh walls now have a static upkeep cost of 20%, so large external-TC and wall networks deserve a fresh upkeep calculation.
Water-well vendorsStock was reduced from 10 to 2 and restock time increased from 2 minutes to 10 minutes.
Safe-zone farmingOre nodes and woodpiles can no longer spawn in safe zones.
Recycler routingPower Plant progression can improve recycler operation and unlock a special high-efficiency recycler, changing where teams may choose to process components.

Player checklist

  1. Keep current explosive counts only after checking the server is vanilla and the RaidBench verification date is current.
  2. Recalculate upkeep for compounds that depend heavily on high walls and external cupboards.
  3. Do not plan a farming route around safe-zone ore nodes or woodpiles.
  4. Treat water-well tools and tea materials as a limited boost rather than a dependable bulk supply.
  5. Recheck recycler risk and travel time before changing the team's component route.

What this update does not prove

Power Trip is not evidence that every old raid guide is invalid. The official notes do not announce direct changes to standard explosive recipes or building target counts; custom servers can still differ.
