When are rockets better than cheaper direct damage?

Short answer

Rockets become better when splash damages more than the first target. If splash is wasted, cheaper direct methods may win. If splash opens several pieces or speeds up pressure, rockets can justify higher sulfur.

SituationRocket value
Single isolated doorOften low value.
Wall plus nearby deployablesPotentially high value.
Grouped doors or splashable pathHigh value if aimed well.
Online raid pressureSpeed may matter more than sulfur.

Checklist

  • Look for multiple pieces in splash range.
  • Avoid rockets when splash hits nothing useful.
  • Use rockets when speed and pressure matter.
  • Recalculate if the path changes.

Example

A stone wall may cost more with rockets than C4 on paper, but splash can matter if it damages nearby doors or a second wall.

Common mistakes

  • Treating rocket cost as only single-target damage.
  • Using rockets where splash is wasted.
  • Ignoring the value of raid speed.
