Should I raid the doors or the wall of a small Rust base?
Choose the route with the lowest risk-adjusted cost, not the fewest visible layers. Count confirmed doors, price the cheapest plausible wall or roof route, estimate where the TC and loot are likely to sit, and include exposure plus the next unknown layer before crafting.
| Route | Choose it when | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Door path | Door count is visible and the path likely reaches the core | Airlocks, garage doors, or turns hide additional layers |
| Wall path | The target room and wall grade are well identified | Honeycomb or a false core makes the breach a side room |
| Roof path | Roof access is controlled and vertical layout is readable | Ladder hatches, traps, or poor exits create a second raid |
| Do not raid | None of the routes has a credible payoff or exit | The plan depends on several unverified assumptions |
